College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.
Job Summary
This position serves partners with the Associate Dean for Evaluation, Accreditation, and CQI to translate school goals, objectives and information requirements into robust Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence solutions that address current needs while remaining scalable, flexible and extensible to adapt to future needs and requirements.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to: Create high performance DW/BI applications
Design, develop, and support scalable, high performance DW/BI applications and Data repositories and BI metadata
Lead Programs
Lead program of school database/application design and Data modeling informed by standards/best practices Develop ETL process
Develop ETL processes and ensure team adheres to standards and best practices through code and design reviews Work closely with other team members Work closely with other team members to design and implement DW/BI analytics solutions Handles Technical Documentation
Document technical aspects of school data elements, data models, and Data mappings Establishes processes and tools
Establish processes and tools to measure and maintain data quality throughout the warehouse and BI metadata Design and implement security model Design and implement security model to support school information access policies Other duties as assigned
Perform other job related duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related IT field of study and 5 years experience in a relevant field of work to include high-level programming and systems analysis and design
Required Experience
Must have experience with ETL/data integration toolset
Experience with Oracle BI
Experience working with a variety of DW and and BI tools to support dashboard development, ad-hoc queries and other information delivery needs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records and make independent decisions.
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in programming languages/analytics/tools to include DW/BI/ETL/SPSS analytics, SPSS Modeler.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Grade: 18
Salary: Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
