Description

POSITION SUMMARY
 

Under the supervision of the Dean of the School of Business and Technology, and the Chair of Business Administration, the MBA Coordinator is the primary administrator for the program.


TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Student recruiting and student success for the program.
  • Teach three MBA courses and two undergraduate courses in an academic year.
  • Academic advisor to students in the MBA program.
  • Market the program to attract potential students to the program.
  • Cultivate external relationships with potential donors, corporations, and community leaders.
  • Oversee MBA program operations and strategic planning.
  • Makes many of the day-to-day decisions of the MBA program.
  • May travel regionally and internationally to recruit students or build relationships.
  • Produce documents and/or presentations using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Serve on the MBA Program admission committee.
  • Oversee the MBA website to ensure correct and current information is posted, including but not limited to updates related to curriculum changes.
  • Assist in MBA orientation activities and in maintaining and updating MBA orientation materials.
  • Work closely with the Business Office and Financial Aid Office for seamless student support.
  • Complete assessments for the program and courses on a semester

  • Assist in preparingMBA satisfactory academic progress letters each semester.
  • Assist and support Dean in developing, maintaining, and enhancing business partnerships.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Business Field.
  • Strategic vision: Ability to think strategically, establishing and executing program priorities.
  • Influence and Leadership: Ability to influence a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Academic Engagement: 1-3 years of experience representing academic programs to the public and prospective students.
  • Experience Management: Commitment to understanding and optimizing the student, faculty, staff, and community experience.
  • Strong commitment to student success and graduate business education
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • This position reports to the Dean of the School of Business & Technology

Founded in 1875, Huston-Tillotson University is Austin's first institution of higher education. The University is an independent, liberal arts, church-related, historically black institution located on a 23-acre tree-lined campus near downtown Austin, Texas. The University is affiliated with United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, and the United Negro College Fund. Undergraduate, four-year degrees in business, education, the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences are awarded.
