Winthrop Position Title
Mathematics Tutor (GA) - Spring 2024
Job Purpose
To tutor students in the Mathematics Tutorial Center and to provide other service to the Department as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide 10 hours of service per week in the Mathematics Tutorial Center, tutoring students enrolled in various introductory mathematics courses.
2. Assist the Education Program Coordinator with the preparation of lab kits for students in MATH291, MATH292, and MATH393.
3. Assist mathematics faculty in preparing copies and other materials for classroom use.
4. Provide other service to mathematics faculty and students as directed by the Chair of the Department.
Qualifications
1. Familiarity with introductory undergraduate mathematics courses (e.g, College Algebra).
2. Experience with tutoring at some level.
Preferred Skills
1. Familiarity with standard software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).
2. Success in mathematics courses at the calculus level or beyond.
