POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Math Tutor

SALARY: $15/hr + weekly bonuses

HOURS: M-F 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Math tutor will be assigned to provide small group (4 members) math homework help and additional math instruction to elementary school members.

(Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Provide math homework help

• Check in daily with members to determine if they have math homework assignments
• Assist any members who are having difficulty completing math homework
• Check all math homework for accuracy
• Communicate daily with parents if a member has not completed their assignments before they leave the Club

2. Utilize the Let’s Go Learn (LGL) online curriculum to assist in student supplemental instruction:

• Ensure each student completes the LGL assessment;
• Ensure members are completing LGL lessons as time allows
• Ensure each student completes the LGL post-test after completing all lessons.

3. Give recognition to celebrate student effort and achievement.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• At least two years of experience working with school aged children:
• Ability to work positively with parents and staff;
• Knowledge of youth development;
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems;
• Ability to organize and supervise students in a safe environment; and
