JOB SUMMARY: Develop students' skills and competence in basic and complex mathematical principles, equations, formulas and calculations, as well as an understanding of the application of mathematics in the solution of practical problems. MINIMAL ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaches knowledge and skills in mathematics, including algebraic concepts, calculations and geometry, and promotes creative thinking and analysis in all related subject areas.
- Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday life and problem-solving.
- Maximizes assessment strategies to promote student learning and growth in all aspects of the curriculum especially in the areas of critical thinking.
- Teachers are expected to become familiar with the Board policies, rules, and procedures and the district curriculum so that they may be able to carry these into effective practice.
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholder groups within the school and community.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Missouri Teacher Certification in Math 9-12 required.
- Experience teaching high school math preferred.
COMPENSATION: Salary will be determined based on education and years of experience. Salary for this position is in accordance with the Teacher Salary Schedule for the 2024-25 school year. This is a full-time contracted teaching position with benefits.
