Materials Management Associate San Jose, CA

Your Tasks:

This role is primarily responsible for assisting in functions related to the receipt, inspection, storage, release, cleaning and distribution of materials needed in GMP manufacturing and distribution operations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform the following with guidance from leadership or in partnership with other staff.
  • Deliver packages and other materials to internal customers.
  • Use hand-trucks, pallet jacks or other material handling equipment to support proper storage of articles in bins, on floor, on shelves, or in controlled temperature units, according to storage specifications.
  • Follow SOPs to execute the receipt, inspection, storage of materials and used for manufacturing and distribution activities.
  • Receive, unpack, and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, report discrepancies to supervisor or designee, and routes items to departments while maintaining compliance to SOPs.
  • Stock incoming product using hand-trucks and/or pallet jacks and stores articles in bins, on floor, on shelves, or in refrigeration units, according to storage specifications.
  • Conduct periodic inventory/stock counts, reporting variances for further actions and or mitigation processes as needed.
  • Perform pick/pack functions in accordance with SOP’s and maintains a high degree of attention and accuracy.
  • Stock, assemble, and prepare shipping containers and ice packs for shipping product.
  • Assist team in management of plant gasses / gas suppliers (i.e. CO2, LN, etc.)
  • Receive and handle hazardous materials such dry ice or flammable liquids per training and as required by SOP guidance.
  • Support operational readiness activities including restocking, cleaning, organizing, or otherwise contributing to efficient operations.
  • Utilize SAP to perform various warehouse functions such as receiving, material reservations, picking, issuances, inventory management, and reconciliation.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and a minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills including standard office software (i.e. MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); prefer shipping database experience (SAP is a plus).  
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (pallet jack). Prefer cGMP experience.

Must have ability to handle more than one task at a time and must work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail. The employee will use a hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments in storage/ work areas.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Facility within an Office Building. Occasions in which this position must work outside, in which temperatures may vary. All persons performing this job will receive appropriate training prior to engaging in work requiring PPE. Employees entering the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as lab coats, glasses and gloves.

The anticipated base salary range has been established at $35,360 – $45,240. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above salary range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.  In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, plus a 401(k) plan.  All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
