Honeywell Aerospace Materials Engineering is seeking Materials Engineer in Glendale, AZ.
Key Job Characteristics:
- Provide business focused engineering solutions for local design and manufacturing of products for space & defense applications such as momentum control, guidance & navigation, control systems, etc.
- Provide leadership and individual contribution for Materials Engineering projects
- Be responsible for program level activities and requirement compliance
- Personal management of many concurrent task assignments
- Specific types of engineering activities include but are not limited to:
- Provide recommendations for various issues arising during manufacturing
- Verify performance and environmental requirement compliance
- Preparation of Materials Engineering inputs to proposals and other customer reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR)
- Development of material and process control plans and other types of contractual deliverables such as non-standard approval requests (e.g., MUA, NSMAR, PMPR), contamination/corrosion control plans, etc.
- Creation of Materials Identification and Usage Lists
- Ownership of material and procurement specifications
- M&P authority for drawing review & sign-off
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in one of the following;
- Materials Science
- Other Physical Science
- Engineering
- Due to contractual requirements, must have US Citizenship with no Dual Citizenship
WE VALUE:
- Bachelor of Science degree with strong focus in materials and may include Metallurgical, Polymer, Ceramic, or related degrees
- Direct experience in an aerospace or high reliability design and manufacturing environment
- Direct experience with design and applications using military/aerospace industry specifications
- Direct experience performing in a cross-functional team to accomplish various size projects
- Experience in Special Process areas such as heat treatment, forging, plating, painting, conformal coating, PB/PBA/Cable & Harness
- Strong focus on task completion with honorable commitments
- Strong demonstrated ability to use business focused mindset to solve wide variety of engineering problems
- Demonstrates strong teamwork characteristics
- Demonstrated strong personal workload management and execution

- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
