Job description

Summary: Performs duties involved in distributing stock to individual stations, record material usage accurately, record material movement, including stock, job, and make parts, ensure materials are where they are required to fit the schedule, conduct cycle counts. Attention to detail, including data input accuracy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:

  • Move materials from stored bins to required bins.
  • Record material usage.
  • Record material movement.
  • Manage the move queues online. Work from routings, bills of material and verbal and written instructions.
  • Use forklift, tow motor and side loader to handle, place and remove raw stock, equipment, parts, scrap, refuse and miscellaneous materials.
  • Remove finished product, scrap and filled baskets from bins.
  • Place stock parts in designated areas according to identification.
  • Pick up, move and stack miscellaneous materials such as baskets, pans, tubs and tote boxes.
  • Weigh and dump scrap from hoppers.
  • Maintain flow of work to prevent lack or excessive accumulation of materials in work and staging areas; maintain aisles and storage areas for safety and ease of movement.
  • Use forklift equipment and floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Maintain stock room in a neat and orderly condition.

QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE: Manufacturing Math, intermediate computer skills to ensure data accruacy, working process/product and part knowledge.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be computer literate.
