Job Summary
Receive, maintain, and disburse inventory.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
- Receive, store, stock, maintain and distribute inventory
- Operate material handling equipment and forklift
- Complete various rail office duties including manual and electronic data processing
- Other duties as assigned by proper authority
Pay:
Position Daily Rate - $291.58
- First twelve (12) calendar months of employment new employee shall be paid 85% of the above rate
- Second twelve (12) calendar months of employment, such employee shall be paid 90% of the above rate
- Third twelve (12) calendar months of employment, such employee shall be paid 95% of the above rate
- After working 36 months, such employee will be paid rate of $291.58 daily rate based on an 8-hour schedule
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid Driver's License
- Type 25 average net words per minute
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle applications experience
- Forklift operation experience
Basic Competencies
Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications- -both general and technical)
- Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)
- Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills)
- Basic Math
Physical Requirements
- Medium to Heavy Work, lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally and up to 85 pounds on a rare basis
- Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection
- Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance
- Climb ladders
Employment Conditions
- Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries
- Wear protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots, or safety glasses
- Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work
- Complete annual safety testing requirements
- Must pass all required assessments
- Must pass a background screening
- This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement, membership is required
- Must pass a post-offer medical examination, including drug and physical capabilities test that entails a 1.5 hour strength and cardiovascular fitness test. You will be required to travel up to 4 hours to testing center at your expense
