Job description

Under the supervision of the Prison Canteen Manager II, the Materials & Stores Supervisor I is responsible for assisting in the operations of the prison canteen. Receive and deliver product from vendors from Warehouse to East and West Canteens. Transfer additional product from East and West Canteens when needed. Vacation relief coverage for the M&SS I's that operate the store window will be required during their absence. Supervise and conduct the sale of merchandise to the institution's general population and mini canteens. Supervise the receipt, storage and issuance of canteen merchandise; assist in establishing retail prices. Hire, evaluate, approved absences, take punitive action, assign and approve work, train and direct inmate staff; maintain inmate pay and time records with IWTIP compliance. Maintain security, such as inspecting premises, and search inmates for contraband such as weapons, illegal drugs and stolen merchandise. Prevent escapes and injury by them, to themselves or others or to property; maintain security of working area and work materials. Supervise and conduct physical inventories in the main canteen and mini canteens. Act in the capacity of the PCM I in his/her absence. 12 MONTH LIMITED TERM MAY BE EXTENDED OR BECOME PERMANENT

CMC has two physically separated housing complexes, commonly referred to as "East" and "West". An emphasis is placed on providing all inmates with programs for self-improvement. These programs include academic and vocational education, work skills in prison industries and inmate self-help groups.
The Level III housing complex (East), which houses medium security general population inmates, is divided into four facilities. Each facility has its own dining room, classrooms, athletic fields, and two three-story housing units. The East housing complex has a fully licensed Correctional Treatment Center as well as a fully licensed 50 bed Mental Health Crisis Unit.
The Level I and II housing complex (West) houses minimum security general population inmates in dormitory settings within three separate facilities. In addition, the West housing complex contains a Level I camp program for fire suppression, conservation and other community service work.
