Material / Production Planner

The Material / Production Planner will collaborate with various partners to develop and implement streamlined materials planning strategies and ensure execution toward the monthly revenue plan. You will be a vital member of the Supply Chain Management team supporting our Sterling Heights, Michigan Distribution operation. This role is responsible for evaluation and resolution of risk in the supply chain while minimizing inventory liabilities.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Engineering to build and maintain an accurate monthly revenue plan and develop mitigation plans as required.
  • Communicate in a cross-functional work environment to ensure overall business objectives are understood and met.
  • Create and maintain BOMs according to plan.
  • Establish and execute appropriate MRP strategies based on inventory on hand, supplier lead times, historical demand, backlog, and sales forecast.
  • Generate initial demand for purchased parts and make-to-order sub assemblies.
  • Carry out production related activities at a transactional level.
  • Oversee Monthly Cycle Count process following established organizational guidelines.
  • Analyze and resolve material variances to minimize any impact to the P&L.
  • Have a working understanding of financial statements and performance.
  • Recommend and implement process improvement measures as needed.

 

Who you are:

  • Bachelors degree  in OR 1-2  years of supply chain and production planning experience
  • Strong understanding of SAP MM, PP, SD or equivalent experience in similar ERP system is a must.
  • Advanced computer skills are required, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word
  • Ability to analyze large data sets to identify critical information to drive decision making process
  • Self starter with the flexibility to work in both independent and collaborative environments
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Previous experience in Traffic, ITS, Mobility Industry
