Making your next move count
Kalmar USA is seeking a Material Planning Intern to assist with the planning of the supply chain for Parts & Service in order to meet independent variable demand while optimizing inventory levels.
Main tasks and responsibilities
● Monitor actual and forecasted consumption of materials and orders replenishment stock
● Process purchase orders. Monitor status of open purchase orders including delivery and quality issues
● Review and evaluate safety stock levels, minimum order quantities, supplier and Quality Assurance lead times on a regular basis to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
● Maintain and input material master data into planning system
● Learn about suppliers’ operations and capabilities
What you’ll need to succeed
● Be currently enrolled in college level coursework for Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration field, preferably at Junior level or higher
● Basic knowledge of supply chain or inventory management
● Preferably some previous work/classroom projects in similar tasks
● Detailed orientated and technical aptitude for heavy equipment parts
● Some knowledge of engineering is a plus.
● Highly proficient Google Docs, Sheets or the MS Office software
● A “Can Do” attitude and sense of urgency
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
