Position: Material Handler - ReceivingWarehouse
Schedule: M-T 7am - 4:30pm, F 7am - 11am (OT as required)
Job description: The Material Handler role reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is a hands-on position which will be responsible for the flow of parts from unloading at the the receiving dock, to moving into assigned warehouse staging areas, and pulling parts to be staged for production. The Material Handler will count and inspect all parts being staged for production at the warehouse and will communicate any exceptions to the Warehouse Manager. Proactive exception management is a critical function of the Handler, identifying and providing solutions to any and all issues.
Responsible for activities such as:
- Pull and stage materials for production, presenting kitted parts using pallet jack
- Inspect in-coming materials, or products to assess accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
- Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
- Review production schedules, work orders, to determine materials requirements or material priorities.
- Requisition and maintain miscellaneous inventories of supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- Confer with department managers or other team members to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
- Reviews production schedules when required due to material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, production, or engineering.
- Provide cross functional back up.
- Travel occasionally to the Fraley location (2 miles away).
- The majority of the material handling is completed with a hand truck (minimal fork lift usage
Preferred skills and experience:
- 1-3 years working in a manufacturing, material handling or inventory capacity
- Communicate via Email, Slack across the organization.
- Navigate Netsuite (Computer ERP System)
- Attention to Detail, Ability to follow up on details
- Ability to organize
- Work with production managers to plan daily/weekly flow of parts and materials
- Provide feedback to Inventory and Receiving Manager concerning all material interruptions
- Be able to lift up to 50 Ibs several times per day.
- Climb ladders, crouch, bend, push and pull on a frequent basis
- Operate Forklift and material handling equipment.
