Material Handler - Production And Shipping For Afternoon Shift And Midnight Shift

The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading and moving materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties

We currently have an opening at our Pulaski Tennessee Plastics facility for a Material Handler. The ideal candidate for this position is team-focused with excellent communication skills and the ability to trouble shoot and problem solve in a variety of challenging and changing situations in addition to:

1. Reads shipping schedule or follows oral instructions to ascertain material to be moved to staging/loading area. (shipping side)
2. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, racks and trucks. (shipping side)
3. Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. (shipping side)
4. Moves materials from storage or work sites to designated area. (shipping and production)
5. Counts and records number of units of materials moved or handled as required. (shipping and production)
6. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on skids, totes or other containers. (shipping side)
7. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. (shipping side)
8. Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. (shipping and production)
9. Dispense raw material to production as requested. (shipping side)
10. Move work in process and finished goods to appropriate areas.
11. Service the production line with empty containers while moving full containers to the proper location in finished goods warehouse. (production side)
12. Make sure all empty containers are production ready, free of trash and remove old labels. (production side)

Education/Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Forklift driving experience required
• Loading dock experience an asset
