PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

To ensure that materials and required components parts are available to production employees when needed and that they flow from work center to work center as required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

• Kits all jobs onto carts for upcoming operations.
• Retrieves materials (shortages, replacements, shop supplies) from Storeroom or other departments, for production employees as needed.
• Processes ECM’s in manufacturing and resolves engineering problems on prints and Bill of Materials.
• Ensures materials flow from work center to work center smoothly and on a timely basis.
• Participates in dispatch list updating and product tollgates.
• Handles the paperwork properly for the above activities and provides assistance to the Supervisor in the on-the-job orientation and training of other team members. Schedule parts to the master schedule.
• Assist in moving units and assist as confined space attendant (as last resort)
• Ensure work area is clean, neat and orderly. Hazmat certifiable.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures and actively participate in defined zero harm safety culture driven activities.

Education and Knowledge or Experience Required:

Candidates for this position must have a high school diploma or GED Equivalent. Must be able to work at heights that are more than 6 feet. Must be able to follow both oral and written directions while maintaining a high productivity level meeting set quality standards. Works under limited supervision. Must have good communication skills for dealing with all levels of supervision. Interacts with production support departments. Able to use SAP system in an “inquiry” capacity to look job status, material status and requirements, etc.
