SUMMARY
Responsible for leading the Material Handler team and facilitating the sampling and pre-weighing of raw materials and intermediates that will be utilized in the manufacture of pharmaceutical chemicals and intermediates. Assists with the movement of materials in accordance with written SOPs. Assist with solvents loading and unloading of tankers . Ensures material handling and packaging area maintain a consistent high level of housekeeping. Displays initiative in completing assigned tasks and has sound mathematical aptitude. Displays high level of attention to detail and demonstrates strong documentation principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Reads and comprehends safety rules and the importance of properly adorning PPE
  • Attends all required GMP training sessions and displays an understanding of current Corden GMP, SOPs, and Material Handler training requirements.
  • Works closely with site personnel to achieve site manufacturing goals
  • Demonstrates the ability to set up and perform sampling and pre-weighing operations properly and efficiently.
  • Perform timely SAP system transaction to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Adheres to housekeeping and safety practices; participates in safety programs offered through the organization
  • Performs training sessions for subordinate/peers within the work environment to accurately meet production needs and timing
  • Double checks the work of other Material Handlers
  • Demonstrates ability to detect and respond to potential hazards and/or emergency situations in daily operations
  • Accurate documentation following written procedures
  • Trained on fork-lift driving safety and fundamentals
  • Trained on SAP material movement and tracking protocols
  • Oversees/trains personnel on Material Handler job responsibilities

LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES
Successfully leads the Material Handler team and works closely with the warehouse manager to ensure successful service delivery. Additional responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Material Handler Lead is responsible for creating an environment that encourages technical excellence, developing and coaching the group to improve skills, and ensuring high quality technical work.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 years of general work experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to contribute to meetings and work effectively with others.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and round accurately in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to understand the metric system.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend and instructions furnished in written procedures.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Forklift certification would be a plus.
SAP/ERP experience helpful
