Now hiring for a Material Handler in the City of Gardena!
The position of Warehouse Associate is responsible for all aspects of warehouse:
- shipment receiving, inventory storing and handling, shipping and product shipment preparation while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion
- Receives material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly
- Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list
- Prepares a receiving report if none is available
- Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items
- Appropriately report/record any discrepancies
- To accurately place materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly manner
- Enter quantity received against the purchase order in the computer system and print back order and inventory stock put away list
- Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on containers
- Conducts order processing, packaging and fulfillment to be shipped to customers
- Preparation of all shipping documentation
- Review all orders to for accuracy and availability
- Conducts periodic inventory of warehouse stock
- Maintains adequate inventory of shipping material
- Ensure warehouse/equipment is maintained and clean on a regular basis
- Safely operate all the necessary equipment in work area
- Operate inventory control equipment (i.e. bar-coding equipment, handheld devices)
- Be able to identify product by SKU Number and validate correct size, color, quantity
- Must be familiar with Quickbooks
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite, entry level computer experience
- Solid reading skills - must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping picklists
- Basic math skills and reasoning skills
- Ability to understand and execute instructions
- High school diploma or GED required
- Able to move/lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment
Job Type: Full-time
Shift & Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:15am-4:45pm
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with most tools and equipment in a machine shop, including Lathes, Grinders, Saws, Debarring Equipment, Various Measuring Tools, Must be able to read and write in English.
Pay Rate: $17.50-$18.00 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
