Material Handler/ Forklift Operator, 1St Shift

Shift: Monday thru Thursday 7AM-5PM.

Material Handlers are responsible for maintaining proper material supply on the Production floor. They also maintain the stock of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in the Warehouse. Material Handlers report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Issue all raw materials required in the production process to individual machine including, but not limited to:

1. Tow

2. Plugwrap

3. Base Rods

4. Corrugated packaging materials

5. Recycled Base Rod trays

• Perform receipts for all finished goods and base rods produced.
• Perform and record waste pick-up at individual machines as defined by documented procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining proper housekeeping standards in production area i.e. removing scrap pallets from production area and delivering to defined area in the warehouse, waste carbon disposal, etc.
• Accurately record all required Fourth Shift transactions:

1. Issuing raw materials

2. Reverse issue raw materials

3. Manufacturing order receipts

4. Reverse receipts

5. Inventory transfers

• Accurately and efficiently perform order changes/closes as required to minimize machine downtime and order reconciliation time.
• Participate in monthly physical inventory.
• Ensure that all incoming materials are in conformance with documented purchase orders (i.e. quantity, part #, etc.).
• Ensure that all incoming materials are physically checked to verify that they are consistent with our quality standards (i.e. clean, dry, odor free, and generally undamaged).
• Transport and store raw materials in their proper designated area per documented policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all storage areas are maintained so that stored materials will remain in a condition suitable for production.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices in the warehouse area.
• Ensure that finished goods are correctly packed, identified, and accounted for according to documented procedures.
• Ensure that records are maintained and stored as specified in documented procedures.
• Ensure that all vehicles, which are to be loaded with our products, are clean, dry, odor free, and suitable to transport our goods.
• Ensure that all warehouse equipment and machinery is maintained in a safe and operational condition per documented procedures.
• Ensure all shipping transactions are performed according to documented procedures.
• Load finished products according to documented procedures or as specified by customers.
• Report any non-conformances to the appropriate Management representative.
• Ensure that all materials are handled in a manner that will not cause damage the material in any way.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALITY & HSE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Each employee is responsible for complying with all company safety regulations and must be familiar with any personal protective equipment required for his/her job.
• Each employee must understand that they are not to begin work on a new task without appropriate training. If a job appears to be unsafe, the employee will report the situation to their manager.
• Each employee must report STEP’s (STOP-THINK-EXAMINE-PROCEED) and inform their manager of minor accidents and near misses in order to improve health, safety, and environmental conditions.
• Each employee must participate in safety walks and safety behavior observations as appropriate, following the HSE Annual Schedule.
• Each employee must be aware of his/her quality targets and his/her specific tasks to achieve these targets.
• Each employee must work towards the continuous improvement of the Quality System, reporting any suggestions or ideas to his/her manager.
• Each employee will support the ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental and the ISO 45001 Safety systems.
