Builders First Source is seeking for Material Handler I who is seeking long-term employment opportunity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Physically handle materials used for constructing components and finished products, optimizing their movement by lifting, carrying, and stacking items as needed.
- Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment such as forklift, or combi lift, including some equipment that may require specialized training.
- Be attentive to training provided by foremen or more senior handlers to increase your knowledge of work processes.
- Understand and adhere to all safety procedures and practices to prevent injuries to yourself and coworkers. Attend periodic safety meetings and provide input for improving safety procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
- Familiarity with safety procedures while performing materials handling tasks.
- Ability to apply understand to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Possible tasks involving climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
- Working in a dynamic environment with varying physical demands.
