Job Summary
STS Technical Services is seeking a Material Handler for a temporary position through July 1st. This role supports internal and external customers by ensuring accurate receiving, stocking, delivery, and shipment of materials. The Material Handler is also responsible for operating all material support equipment and performing material support functions, including receiving, running lines, and shipping in the assigned operations facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Efficiently locate and pull materials/supplies as listed on production/sales orders.
- Stock assigned production areas to maintain inventory levels for production.
- Accurately verify part quantities and complete Bills of Lading (BOLs) to receive and/or ship material.
- Operate all material handling equipment, including stand-up and sit-down forklifts, combi, lancer, and tugger.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with safety procedures, rules, and proper 6S standards.
- Follow all safe procedures and practices in the operation of various material support equipment in the assigned operations facility.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience working directly with material handling equipment (forklift, tugger, etc.) and inventory management in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, or an evaluated equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six (6) months of applicable position experience.
- Ability to become forklift certified to operate a forklift/tugger to receive and deliver parts safely and efficiently.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to an ever-changing environment and processes.
- Experience using warehouse technology or electronics.
- Experience with ship confirming.

Working Conditions
- Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking/running, sitting, reaching, hearing, talking, visual typing. Occasional climbing, driving, bending/kneeling, hearing, talking, visual typing, fine dexterity, manual dexterity, upper extremity repetitive motion, lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs.
- Non-Physical Demands: Occasional analysis/reasoning, communication/interpretation, math/mental computation, reading, sustained mental activity (e.g., auditing, problem-solving, grant writing, composing reports), writing.
- Environmental Demands: Occasional work alone, frequent task changes, tedious/exacting work, dust, temperature extremes, loud noises.
- Work Schedule: Routine shift hours with infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation.
- Demands/Deadlines: Occasional stress due to deadlines or workload because of intermittent or cyclical work pressures or occasional exposure to distressed individuals within the immediate work environment.
