Position Name:Material Handler 3rd Shift
Location: Manor, TX
Responsibilities:
- It is the responsibility of the Material Handler to ensure the Assembly Line is supported with the right material, at the right time, and in the right quantity in a safe manner while also maintaining the quality of the product.
- To ensure all deliveries are met in a Just-In Time / Just-in-Sequence production environment.
- Removal of returnable / empty bins with Right Dunnage from assembly line.
- Loading & unloading of incoming and outbound trucks in a safe manner. Verifying bins / goods in accordance with written and verbal instructions.
- Sorting and scanning of shipments in accordance with written and verbal instructions in regular receiving and in the event of discrepancies.
- Marking goods containers with internal accompanying documents FIFO tags and storing accordingly.
- Carrying out transport and storage operations on company premises. Loading empties /packaging on lorries.
- Providing production areas with materials (containers, pallets, racks, boxes etc.) in accordance with the regulations for moving goods in and out of storage. Loading and unloading stock for production line, ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Removing empty containers, re-usable/returnable bins and packaging materials from production areas. Keeping the floor, racks, and tilt tables clean. (Containers, internal packaging etc.)
- Communication with all team members and supervisors as it relates to Logistics, Safety, Quality and, Production.
- Disposing of packaging materials, separated into plastics, paper, foil etc. in the relevant containers, including compressing and tying it with the relevant materials.
- Cleaning containers and carrying out any basic repairs according to instructions.
- Inspecting the fork trucks to ensure that they are driven in a safe manner, and to maintain cleanliness. Report all issues and concerns to the supervisor.
- Perform Auditing, Inventory and Monitoring tasks or other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Carrying out basic written operations and / or entries on IT equipment (Scanners) according to instructions.
- Report defects in equipment which may endanger a worker to the Supervisor.
- Making sure the workplace is clean and tidy.
- Use or wear PPE as required.
- Participate in Problem resolution to ensure prompt results.
- Participate in retraining and certification processes on an annual basis.
- Perform Sequencing activities as described for production line.
- Follow rotation schedules. Participate in creating a safety oriented work environment.
- Ensure conformance to all company and legislative policies and procedures and Rules of Conduct.
- WCM – Duties as assigned
- Has the ability to stop production, upon notifying the Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor Manager or Plant Manager for Safety Related matters requiring immediate attentions.
- Ensuring compliance to and participate in IATF 16949 and CSR (Customer Specific Requirements) compliance & ISO 14001 certification
- Has the ability to stop production, upon notifying the Supervisor for quality related nonconforming matters requiring immediate repair
- Other duties as assigned
- Perform warehouse management (WM) activities as requested
Profile Required:
- High School Diploma
- Post Secondary Education in related field an asset
- Previous JIT/JIS production knowledge an asset.
- Fork-lift truck driving license
