Job Functions:
Essential / General:
- Perform all duties to successfully cover absences for other team leads, Material Handlers for plant, as needed.
- Conduct and evaluate associate training for production logistics team, as needed.
- Create work instructions, SOS, controlled documents and training materials as needed to support effective material flow.
- Perform all audits such as Kanban, 5s, Market, Safety etc.; investigate, communicate and correct (where feasible) issues found during audits.
- Conduct problem solving for failures/ mistakes using standardized structures problem solving methods like PDCA (plan, do, check, act) & A3 and work with quality to track defects and monitor progress in root cause.
- Identify and reduce non-value added work and recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality standards.
- Keep management abreast of progress, developments and pending problems
- Act as temporary supervisor in absence of supervisor by performing the daily tasks (e.g. manpower allocation, shop floor meetings, daily reports, parts issues, etc.). No HR related activities can be performed (e. g. disciplinary actions or performance evaluations, employee counseling, timecard approval, etc.).
- Perform special projects as needed and maintain flexibility on the job.
- Promote continuous improvement suggestion system within team and implement suggestions of team members with help of engineering & maintenance.
- Responsible to follow all safety and shop rules.
- Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility & live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in a material handling / manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced troubleshooting and proactive problem solving skills
- Advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees in a team atmosphere
- Intermediate organizational, planning, and follow up skills
- Intermediate reading, writing and math skills
- Intermediate oral and written communication skills
- Intermediate PC knowledge and the ability to efficiently operate computer terminals and scanning devices
- Use of SAP and RF equipment to perform all material handling duties.
- Use of excel to document, track and follow up issues and improvements.
- Use of Outlook (email) to communicate with team and other departments.
- Forklift, reach truck, motorized transport vehicle operator license.
1. Knowledge of basic SAP software capabilities and functionality

Work Environment:
Daily work is performed in a durable goods manufacturing environment.
