This position is located at the National Computer Forensics Institute in Hoover, AL.
The Material Coordinator will be working onsite in Hoover, AL. This is a full-time, service contract act (SCA) position.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Secret Clearance Required. Perform a variety of warehousing duties, which require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
Receiving and Unloading:
- Receive incoming boxes and/or pallets of equipment, supplies, and training materials, ensuring their accuracy against delivery documents and purchase orders.
- Safely unload and inspect pallets, checking for any signs of damage, missing items, or discrepancies between the shipment and documentation.
- Report any damaged or missing items to the appropriate personnel and initiate necessary actions for resolution.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of received items, including product details, quantities, and any relevant notes.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using a designated USSS inventory management system or software. The government presently uses Fishbowl Inventory. During the course of the contract period, the government may transition to a Sales-force based system.
- Conduct regular physical counts and reconcile them with the recorded inventory and identify and resolve discrepancies, as required (every two weeks or at the request of the USSS Contracting Officer Representative (COR) or their designee.
- Organize and label inventory items in a logical manner to facilitate easy identification, retrieval, and stock rotation.
- Implement and maintain a first-in, first-out (FIFO) system for all items, as many have warranties or other time-sensitive natures.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning tasks on equipment and machinery used in the warehouse, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment.
- Inspect and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance team.
- Coordinate with the COR to schedule and oversee repairs or service for warehouse equipment.
- Keep an organized record of equipment maintenance schedules, repairs, and service history
Staging and Preparation:
- Prepare and stage equipment, supplies, and training materials required for each weekly training session, ensuring equipment availability and readiness.
- Perform light to moderate physical effort (up to 60 lbs. per individual) to transport the equipment, supplies, and training materials with the assistance of either other personnel or weight handling equipment.
- Maintain a well-organized staging area, ensuring that it is clean, clutter-free, and optimized for efficient distribution of equipment and materials.
- Assist with the setup of training rooms, including arranging chairs, tables, furniture, and any other equipment as required.
- Move and/or arrange other facility furniture, equipment, and appliances on an as-needed basis.
Order Fulfillment and Shipping:
- Pick and pack items accurately and efficiently for outgoing shipments, ensuring that the correct items are included, and appropriate packaging and labeling are applied.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers and logistics partners to arrange pickups and deliveries.
- Generate shipping labels, invoices, and any necessary customs or export documentation.
- Ensure all shipments are properly sealed, labeled, and documented before dispatch.
- Track and monitor outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery and address any issues that may arise during transit.
General Warehouse Duties:
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, including sweeping, removing debris, and organizing storage areas.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety procedures.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to optimize warehouse operations.
Vehicle Operations:
- Operate a forklift and/or pallet jack to safely and efficiently move and transport pallets of equipment and supplies within the warehouse and facility.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have a Secret security clearance (no more than 2 yrs inactive).
- Experience in general warehousing operations involving material receipt, storage, and issue.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more when required.
- General working knowledge of material handling equipment (MHE) equipment.
- Required to properly wear personal protective equipment when necessary.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft, Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (customer relations).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- High School Diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
