SUMMARY OF DUTIES
This position is responsible for coordinating daily storehouse operations at the MOE warehouses. This role will also perform all storeroom activities such as tracking and maintaining inventory, shipping, receiving, recording of receipts and disbursements, and maintain all SAP weekly reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintain the inventory and issuance of all inventory items.
  • Coordinate and manage the cycle counting program and maintain the department's benchmark variance weekly.
  • Lead and direct the daily agreement staff.
  • Suggest and streamline business processes within the warehouse.
  • Able to be on call 24/7 - 365 days a year, to call for reserve overtime and respond to onsite emergencies.
  • Promote and support an enriched safety environment.
  • Attend tri-weekly BAM conference call.
  • Run and maintain all SAP reports daily.
  • Maintain facility support for multiple storerooms.
  • Pay vendor invoices and requisition through AOD
  • Assist in the onboarding of new employees to Procurement & Logistics group.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Business Administration or other relevant degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience. Proven experience utilizing SAP/Ariba, or an equivalent system.
  • Proven experience in materials management, warehouse inventory control and planning distribution environment. Demonstrated experience and understanding of cycle counts and methods to maintain and improve location and inventory validity and accuracy.
  • Proven working knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Satisfactory prior job performance.
  • Strong working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures including safety, materials management, and DOT (CFR49) requirements.
  • Experience demonstrating ability to lead agreement employees in accordance with the collective bargaining agreements to ensure compliance with the applicable labor contract.
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/projects.
  • Ability to establish priorities to meet business needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively interact with senior level management, business partners, and internal/external customers.
  • Ability to learn new tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Ability to generate results in a team-oriented environment without direct formal organizational reporting authority.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in materials management, including purchasing, planning, replenishment, forecasting, logistics, distribution, MRP and scheduling.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of continuous improve within a matrix organization.
  • Knowledge of and experience in strategic sourcing strategies.
  • High level understanding of OSHA requirements.
  • Proven experience in forecasting, logistics, scheduling production control in a heavy repair & turn around railroad maintenance facility.
  • Experience in the management of continuous improvement within a major program in a matrix organization.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing strategies for program execution.
  • 0-2 years relevant experience

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

The salary/hourly range is $58,900 - $76,464. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
