Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis and Repair:
- Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments to identify complex automotive issues.
- Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs on a variety of vehicles.
- Address engine, transmission, suspension, and other complex system malfunctions.
- Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and their interactions.
- Provide guidance and expertise to junior technicians.
- Supervision and Training:
- Oversee and mentor junior automotive technicians.
- Provide training on advanced repair techniques, diagnostics, and safety procedures.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Customer Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses and repair recommendations.
- Address customer concerns and provide excellent customer service.
- Provide accurate estimates of repair costs and timelines.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure the quality of repair work meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Conduct thorough post-repair inspections to verify the effectiveness of repairs.
- Implement and enforce quality control processes within the automotive service department.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and parts used.
- Utilize computerized systems for tracking and documenting repair processes.
- Generate reports on service department activities as needed.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the automotive service department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal automotive training or certification is preferred.
- Several years of experience as an automotive technician.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification as a Master Technician.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic automotive service environment.
