Master Planning & Urban Designer
Bjarke Ingels Group is looking for a Master Planning and Urban Design Lead to join our team in NYC. You will be responsible for overseeing and advancing the Master Planning and urban design projects internationally. This role involves leading design teams, fostering creative design excellence, pursuing business development opportunities, and maintaining client relationships. You will be expected to be a design leader within the studio represent design innovation to both internal and external stakeholders. This position has significant growth potential as you collaborate with planners, Urban Designers, architects, landscape architects, and other professionals to create integrated, sustainable, memorable, and implementable solutions to complex problems. Previous experience working on projects in the Middle East is a major plus.
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a wide range of project types and scales for higher education campuses, research and development districts, urban districts and neighborhoods, transit-oriented developments, hospitality, and mixed-use, residential, and commercial developments
  • Conduct various planning, space programming, and design analyses
  • Integrate physical, social, economic, and sustainability factors into responsible designs for our clients
  • Prepare clear and compelling visuals for project reports, coordination meetings, public outreach events, and presentations:
  • Coordinate with consultants and participate in design presentations

Requirements:
  • 7 - 10 years of related professional experience
  • Bachelors degree and/or Master's degree in urban design, planning, landscape architecture, architecture, or related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital software( Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Design Suite)
  • Exceptional design talent in all phases of the design process as well as deep understanding of urban design standards and principles
  • Ability to collaborate and perform effectively in multi-disciplinary teams

Nice to Haves:
  • Interest in sustainability, resiliency, infrastructure, real estate, and/or higher education
  • Interest in emerging technologies such as generative/computer-aided design, AI, AR/VR, and interactive data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with large-scale sustainability rating systems such as EcoDistricts, LEED-ND, and/or Living Community Challenge
  • Basic knowledge of Revit, GIS, Enscape, and/or Grasshopper

Base Compensation: $85,000 - $120,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset
