Position Summary
The Master Planner and Scheduling Manager is responsible for planning the production and purchasing of all major component groups required in our production plants. This person will also manage the Plant Schedulers to ensure daily releases are happening on schedule. This position will report to the VP of Manufacturing.
Position Details
- Utilize SAP to develop and maintain master production schedules while balancing capacity and demand within the appropriate time horizons.
- Establish a week cadence with production to review the weekly schedules.
- Respond daily to action/exception messages generated from SAP to maintain valid production and material requirements to continually optimize productivity.
- Participate in weekly meeting with Purchasing to ensure all material supplies are received and available for use to support the production schedule.
- Maintain existing plans to effectively address over/under production quantities, plans with past due operations, and reschedule the production shortages.
- Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, establish recommendations, and implement solutions.
- Analyze SKU performance and patterns to establish MRP parameters within SAP that optimize production and maximize service levels.
- Imparts comprehensive training, instruction, and guidance in a range of topics including engineering data setup, Material Requirements Planning, and Production Control systems.
- Communicate schedule changes to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Communicate with Customer Service, Engineering, Purchasing, Production regarding schedules.
- Perform other related tasks as necessary.
Position Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Supply Chain, and/or Planning and Scheduling.
- Experience with SAP or other MRP systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- APICS certification or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with all levels of the company.
- Understand the concepts of lead time, Make to Order (MTO)/Make to Stock (MTS) strategies, capacity planning, ABC analysis/stratification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
