Performs semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in maintaining the City's vehicles and mechanical equipment. Work performed under limited supervision with moderate latitude. Relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures.
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by three or more years' related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. Must have a valid Florida Class B commercial driver's license with an air brake endorsement and satisfactory driving record throughout employment. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification required.
