BWXT is currently seeking a Master Black Belt for its Mt. Vernon, IN location!

  

Job Description/Duties:

  • Coordinate with site leadership to identify and prioritize targeted areas of opportunity for eliminating waste and reducing variation.
  • Facilitate strategic planning and project selection sessions with site management.
  • Lead highly visible and complex process improvement projects.
  • Motivate and direct cross-functional teams to desired results through skillful application of the LSS principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and support.
  • Mentor Master Black Belts, Black Belts, Green Belts, and Yellow Belts through certification.
  • Provide independent reviews for Black Belt certifications.
  • Provide feedback during dry runs and attend project report-outs.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training to support the LSS deployment.
  • Estimate soft/hard benefits (COPQ) for a variety of process improvement projects.

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of a bachelor degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field.
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience. 
  • Must have Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification or equivalent.
  • Must have demonstrable experience as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with a strong track record.
  • Must have demonstrable change management expertise and ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels.
  • Must be a talented facilitator with experience leading a variety of teams and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Must have successful leadership experience coaching, teaching, and mentoring others.
  • Must have strong demonstrable strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must have functional experience in multiple disciplines such as engineering, manufacturing, quality, project management.
  • Must have the ability to drive change; results oriented; strong business acumen; excellent communication skills; strong technical aptitude; team oriented.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
  • Ability to report to work at an assigned office location in Mt. Vernon, IN. This position does not include a remote work option.

 

Benefits:

The Master Black Belt will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off, paid winter holiday shutdown, educational refund plan, medical, , vision and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match.
