Member Duties : Fellows are emerging leaders that spend a year of their lives delivering the resources that young people need to be successful in life by providing out-of-school-time opportunities for youth in grades 6-12 focused on college and career exploration and academic enrichment. During a year of AmeriCorps service, Fellows serve full-time for 11 months with non-profit organizations, schools, and state and local agencies throughout the Commonwealth. Fellows engage in monthly team building and training activities as a cohort. Trainings are focused on youth development, social justice and identity, and supporting youth in out-of-school time settings. Specific service activities include: - Designing and leading out-of-school time programs focused on academic enrichment - Delivering college and career exploration curricula for young people - Creating meaningful relationships with youth - Recruiting and managing volunteers Program Benefits : Health Coverage , Education award upon successful completion of service , Stipend , Training , FREE courses at Northeastern University! , Living Allowance .
