Marketing/Communications Associate

Company Description—Blue River is an investment banking firm that represents buyers (e.g., private equity firms, family offices, and public corporations) and sellers of privately held middle-market businesses.

Job Description

The Associate will support Blue River’s merger and acquisition (M&A) teams. Primary efforts will be focused on developing marketing and presentation materials for clients as well as for Blue River. The Marketing /Communications Associate will gain valuable insight into the M&A transaction process by supporting clients as they progress through the deal stages. At Blue River, Associates are valuable members of the team and are expected to provide opinions and input into the deal process.

Primary Activities:

· Creating Engagement Marketing Documents, including Strategic Overviews, Investment Thesis’, Introductory Letters, and other digital communications templates for Corporate Development Clients.

· Assisting Advisory Teams in analyzing the success of marketing campaigns through “A/B” testing and marketing message enhancements.

· Participating in Client Kickoff calls and collaborating with advisory teams on strategy and preparation for launch.

· Creating Confidential Information Memorandums, Teasers & Management Presentations for Sell-Side Advisory Clients.

· Creating Pitchbooks for potential new clients.

· Customize PowerPoint presentations according to provided content, branding guidelines, and design preferences.

· Design in Canva/PowerPoint/Microsoft Word

· Customize PowerPoint presentations according to provided content, branding guidelines, and design preferences.

· Design in Canva/PowerPoint/Microsoft Word.

· Developing industry reports and other communications to be used in marketing campaigns.

· Offer additional buyside engagement support including pipeline distribution, status call administration and Sharefile support as needed.

Potential Secondary Activities:

· Performing industry research.

· Building target lists in support of clients’ investment theses.

· Other activities as required.

Qualifications:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Mastery of MS PowerPoint and Word, experience with Canva

· Strong eye for design and attention to detail

· Self-starter

· Appropriately self-confident

· High ethical standards

· Highly intelligent

· Team player

· Sense of humor

· Bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 GPA.

Support & Exposure

· The Associate will complete an intensive two-week training program upon acceptance to the program. After the 2-week program, they will be assigned to projects where they will receive additional on-the-job training.

· Associates will develop a keen understanding of the mechanics behind M&A transactions.
