Marketing Specialist
General Description:
The Marketing Specialist reports to the Marketing Manager and is responsible for driving customer engagement through effective email marketing campaigns, website updates and management, paid search advertising, and other marketing-related tasks in support of the Commercial Sales Team. This position will work closely with the Business Development Team and third-party marketing agencies. Thorough product knowledge is required for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
Email Marketing:
- Build successful email marketing campaigns such as New Product Announcements, Opportunity Nurturing Campaigns, Quarterly Newsletters, and other tailored campaigns on a case-by-case basis.
- Design the look and feel of each email campaign by creating your own graphics and editing HTML when necessary.
- Craft compelling email subject lines, copy, and CTAs to enhance engagement.
- Choose campaign images or create custom graphics/imagery as needed.
- Analyze campaign performance, providing detailed reports and insights to Sales and Marketing teams.
- Collaborate with Business Development for targeted email outreach to specific audience segments.
- Manage and enhance our contact database through segmentation and proper tag assignment.
- Drive the company’s email marketing strategy by proposing email marketing campaigns to targeted audience segments that will increase leads and/or nurture existing opportunities.
Website Management:
- Plan and implement a content schedule for website updates, including new product additions, team and company updates, and blog publications.
- Proofread and publish content provided by our third-party marketing agency.
- Generate original written content for the blog/website as needed.
- Optimize website conversion by creating and managing landing pages and lead forms.
- Lead future redesigns and development of the ASF website, including content organization, lead generation strategies, conversion rate optimization, and user interface design.
Paid Search Advertising:
- Plan and schedule targeted Paid Search Advertising campaigns as appropriate and approved by leadership.
- Create and manage paid search campaigns in collaboration with our third-party marketing agency.
- Utilize reporting features within Google Analytics to assess campaign success and overall effectiveness.
Team Support:
- Support the sales team by organizing and distributing customer-facing collateral in a shared asset library such as Dropbox or OneDrive.
- Add the ASF brand to product sell sheets provided by vendor partners.
- Create and maintain a quarterly (and more frequently as-needed) internal company newsletter to all Advantage employees, announcing company news, new hires, team “wins,” etc.
- Perform other marketing-related duties as required and assigned.

- Knowledge of, or willingness to acquire skills in, HTML and CSS, Email Service Providers, SEO/SEM, Social Media Platforms, Content Management Systems, and CRM and Marketing Automation Platforms.
· B.S./B.A. in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field.
- 3+ years relevant work experience, preferably in a B2B organization.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Experience using Mailchimp (or similar), Canva (or similar), Google Marketing Tools (Analytics/Ads, etc.), & Squarespace (or similar).
Location & Hours
This is a remote position with an anticipated workweek of approximately 40-45 hours. Generally, these hours should be worked Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM Eastern Standard Time to coordinate with ASF Ithaca, NY headquarters. Occasionally, extended hours may be required as business needs demand.
Compensation & Benefits:
The Marketing Specialist is a salaried, FLSA-nonexempt, permanent, full-time position, and is eligible for company benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, and 401(k). Salary is dependent upon qualifications with a range of $52,000-$62,000 per year.
