HarperCollins Children’s Books is currently seeking a dynamic, creative Marketing & Publicity Associate! The Marketing and Publicity Associate will report to the Directors of the Middle Grade and Teen marketing teams, and will play a key role in coordinating marketing efforts across both teams. 

 

This is a hybrid position based out of our New York office.


  • Develops, creates, edits, and schedules short- and long-form content for social media (vertical video, round-up posts, blogs, etc.) in close coordination with category and digital teams.
  • Assists category teams in executing integrated marketing and publicity campaigns for select titles and brands. 
  • Assists with coordinating standalone author/illustrator events, including local bookstore, school, and festival appearances. 
  • Handles administrative tasks, including seasonal data entry and grid management for category teams, invoice coding and processing, and photoshoot process. 
  • Handles organization, fulfillment, mailings, and reporting for online giveaways, influencer outreach, sales requests, and any other special promotions.
  • Assists with the coordination of group campaigns tied to specific cultural, social, and/or holiday moments. 
  • Partners with the publicity & marketing teams to approve all media and bookseller egalleys and voicegalley requests in Netgalley and Edelweiss.
  • Fulfills egalley requests from authors and the publicity team. 
  • Represents category teams at key departmental meetings as needed (such as jackets). 
  • Occasional travel to represent HarperCollins at consumer and trade festivals. 

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience required
  • Skilled in using online creative tools such as Canva 
  • Skilled in using major social media platforms and their in-app functions
  • Must be a resourceful self-starter who can take initiative and independently solve problems
  • Excellent skillset in project management, communication, organization, and presentations
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across the division and within the company
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills, positive attitude, and a high level of professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills necessary, especially MS Office Suite
  • Passion for books (YA and/or Middle Grade a plus!)

The salary range for this position is $53,000-$55,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.  As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
