Position Summary:

The Marketing Manager is a brand ambassador who will work with a variety of constituents and stakeholders; someone who is able to focus priorities while juggling multiple tasks and goals. This person will develop block wide marketing initiatives and campaigns, be an adept event producer and possess social media and digital marketing acumen. The Marketing Manager oversees event logistical coordination for Dairy Block events, activations and pop-ups.

This is a position that requires excellent organization and communication skills so daily tasks are successfully completed in an efficient and timely manner. The Marketing Manager conducts themselves in a professional, hospitable manner to guests, staff members, and tenants always, representing McWHINNEY and the Dairy Block brand as a key ambassador within the neighborhood and community.

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a strong desire and ability to immerse themselves in the vibrant Denver and Lower Downtown food, art, events, and retail scenes. Successful applicants will actively engage with and contribute to these communities, fostering robust relationships with neighborhood organizations, artist networks, event organizers, and other relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Marketing: Creates and implements annual marketing plan. Manages assigned budget and expenses to ensure marketing and strategic goals are achieved. Responsible for marketing inquiries directed to general information lines and website, including advertising and sales inquiries. Serves as brand/community ambassador for Dairy Block.
  • Property Brand Oversight & Enhancement: Conduct regular walkthroughs of the property to evaluate visual elements, signage, decor, and overall aesthetics to ensure they align with Dairy Block's brand identity. Work closely with relevant teams, including property management and operations, to address identified discrepancies or opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement protocols for regular property assessments, ensuring ongoing brand compliance and consistent visual representation across all areas of Dairy Block.
  • Merchant/Tenant Relations: Communicate with tenants on a regular basis. Lead monthly block-wide tenant marketing meetings. Assist with marketing needs as it relates to the block. Oversee collateral creation including print and digital assets as it relates to the tenants at Dairy Block. Schedule and acquire photography and video for marketing, advertising and public relations.
  • Events/Activations: Oversee the development of the annual events calendar in alignment with the overall marketing strategy. Oversee events and activation development, production, and execution throughout the year. Coordinate with all tenants to create additional events that are collaborative and beneficial to the entire block.
  • Advertising: Develop and execute comprehensive print and digital advertising campaigns. Update all property and advertising materials as it relates to the block and tenants. Oversee and assist with the creation of temporary and permanent signage. Able to create digital and print collateral materials utilizing Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Sponsorships/Partnerships: Liaison for marketing-related requests from outside of Dairy Block (e.g. third-party events and sponsorship opportunities). Seek and obtain mutually beneficial and on-brand sponsorship partners. Execute and fulfill sponsorship assets according to agreement.
  • Graphic Design: Create posters, flyers, ads and brochures as needed in accordance with brand standards; this includes, but is not limited to, onsite wayfinding and promotional materials, social media graphics, and digital/print ads.
  • Website: Lead website development consultant and be able to implement simple website updates such as news postings, copy changes and digital asset uploads. Post PR, news and events on the website weekly. Manage monthly email newsletter and content of the Dairy Block opted-in audience. Ensure maximum web presence and search engine optimization implementation.
  • Blog Content Ideation & Creation: Develop innovative and strategic ideas for blog content aligned with Dairy Block's brand and marketing objectives. Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and external contributors to gather insights and information for content creation. Utilize content management systems (CMS) to upload, format, and publish blog content on Dairy Block's website platform.
  • Social Media: Responsible for managing social media partner. Collaborate with social media partner on development of social media calendar, content and updates for Dairy Block. Maintain frequent and creative social media content updates via a strategic calendar that also incorporates Dairy Block and tenant messaging. Monitor social media of all tenants. Stay current on emerging trends in social media.
  • Public Relations: Oversee public relations partner. Assist with award submittals on behalf of Dairy Block. Collaborate on press releases to ensure timely and relevant content to media outlets.
  • Tourism: Maintain partnerships with local and national associations such as Visit Denver and Colorado Tourism Organization. Manage Dairy Block brochure and promotional material inventory, ensuring distribution in the marketplace.
  • Team Development: Opportunity to contribute to the expansion of the Dairy Block marketing team. Identify talent, assess team needs, and potentially hire and manage a marketing coordinator or additional team members in alignment with Dairy Block's growth strategy.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communication, journalism or related field and two years related experience and/or training. Previous event management experience a must.
  • Must be highly motivated and a quick learner
  • Highly organized
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willing and able to work long hours on evenings and weekends when necessary, including some holidays
  • Event work: long hours on feet (18 hours), ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
  • Graphic design experience: Ability to design flyers, brochures and posters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress
  • Ability to edit websites in WordPress
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and vendor contracts
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Public Speaking: Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or event patrons
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and make appropriate decisions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
