As the Marketing & Events Manager you are responsible for developing marketing tools and events that directly support YCCA's mission and vision as well as meet the organization's business plan objectives. You will manage a broad range of marketing projects and special events as well as the day-to-day oversight of YCCA marketing channels and creation of marketing materials to grow awareness, conversion, and engagement rates, enabling YCCA to make a greater impact in the communities we serve.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MARKETING & EVENTS MANAGER
Working with the Development and Leadership teams, your role will help grow YCCA's overall marketing reach through community outreach, event coordination, and mass communications including social media, website, targeted campaigns and print materials. You will also help facilitate branding and messaging consistency throughout the organization. Daily duties may include:
- In collaboration with the Director of Development, assist in overall development of marketing plan that supports YCCA's fundraising and community activities
- Oversee the production and management of all external organizational communications to ensure alignment with YCCA vision and mission
- Develop and implement effective email marketing strategies to engage and convert leads into volunteers, donors and community advocates
- Conceptualize, manage and plan YCCA community events from donor solicitation to marketing materials, staff coordination and event management including on-site set up, production and take down for each event
- Assist in the development and fulfillment of the events and marketing budgets
- Supervise and coordinate with event contractors and sponsors to ensure the successful deployment of YCCA events
- Negotiate agreements with outside vendors for event and communication services as needed
- Plan, create and schedule fresh, engaging content for all digital channels including social, website and e-news platforms
- Serve as WordPress site editor, maintaining copy and content for YCCA inter/intranet
- Interface with all key departments to gather announcements/newsworthy items and disseminate as appropriate
- Identify, establish, and cultivate relationships with social media influencers (locally, statewide and nationally), media, partners, and other institutions to extend YCCA marketing reach
- Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new opportunities with social media
- Track digital social media KPIs and optimize marketing activities
- Develop and execute electronic newsletter, annual organization reports and Board documents
- Perform any other related duties needed to help drive our Vision and fulfill our Mission

- Knowledge of marketing and communications best practices
- Knowledge of content creation for digital media including web, social media, and e-news
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively and in a supportive manner within an interdisciplinary team, and culturally diverse populations
- Exemplary customer service skills. Consistently demonstrates professionalism, poise, tact, and diplomacy in interactions with others including in confidential or sensitive situations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design and Canva as well as video editing
- Proficient in IOS platform
- High level of proficiency with social media networks, such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, etc. Knowledge of Hootsuite or other social media management tools a plus
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid CA driver's license
- Periodic evening and weekend availability required
Nice to Have Skills
- Knowledge of social services such as child welfare system, educational system, health care systems, affordable housing, food security, and other issues that affect families
- Knowledgeable about Yolo County, its community organizations, government agencies, and businesses a plus
Essential Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to perform tasks which involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work as well as lift up to 20lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role
Experience & Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field with 3-5 years of experience in event planning, writing and managing digital content including social media, web, and e-news.
