Marketing And Event Manager - Retail

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Marketing and Events Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for events and a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns to highlight them. The Marketing Manager for Events will be responsible for developing and implementing our signature events while using these events to drive attendance, enhance brand awareness, and bring joy to our campus.

Duties:

The following duties are typical for this position. Employees may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

• Working hand in hand with hotels, Chamber of Commerce’s, local businesses, local communities and our consumers to channel business to the St. James Winery campus
• Coordinating all on premise events in the Gardens, Public House Brewing Company, St. James Winery Tasting Room and all other winery properties and amenities as a whole
• Scheduling and Management of all Event staff, ensuring that all services provided live up to the company’s brand standards and service expectations
• Facilitating and booking group business for the campus, to include large party reservations, bus tours, campus tours, corporate events, VIP visits, etc.
• Responsible for the organization and supervision of all campus signature events.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and our venues
• Work and collaborate as a direct liaison between all retail departments and the marketing department to facilitate awareness of the brand in the surrounding communities and abroad
• Oversee internal and external event communications
• Daily reporting to retail managers on any new or developing opportunities to further the reach of the brand
• Creatively develop and continuously foster opportunities and ideas to enhance the brand through new events, improving our brand awareness in the market
• Responsibility for booking musicians for weekends as well as for events
• Submitting payment information for musicians to Accounting weekly and delivering payment for musicians to venue
• The ability to maintain and update the website/social media with different events and opportunities as needed
• The ability to work across teams in an organized way in order to increase communications across the retail team and the marketing team.
• The ability to improve organization processes in order to better communicate across all teams.
• Ability to obtain Sales and/or Promotions licensing when required

Qualifications and Experience

The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.

Education and Minimum Requirements:

• AA/BA or equivalent with a minimum of two years of related experience
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a Motor vehicle records background check
• Required to work evenings and weekends when needed

Qualifications:

• Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to type a minimum of 50 words per minute
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
• Liaison between various departments of the organization ensuring all have clear and updated information for upcoming events
• Acute attention to detail
• Strong organizational and problem solving skills
