Job Description
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will work closely with team members to develop and execute marketing strategies. This position is responsible for curating an effective SEO content approach to drive traffic, completing collateral requests from internal departments, and creating consistent and compelling content for our social media platforms. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of CALV's mission, partners, programs, and brands to ensure consistent look, style, and feel
- Create meaningful, high-quality content that aligns with our brands for digital and print media
- Assist all internal departments with collateral requests, including but not limited to graphic design, video, photo, and written copy
- Manage a consistent and effective editorial calendar with targeted topics and platforms
- Manage social and online platforms to engage our target audience in a manner that best represents our organization authentically
- Keep website updated with new and engaging SEO content
- Monitor web for opportunities to engage in relevant conversations about the organization, industry, and community
- Work with team members to develop, implement, and manage social and digital media strategies
- Use KPIs and other metrics to validate effectiveness and make recommendations to improve/optimize
- Create analytics reports, delivering valuable insights around posting trends, engagement levels
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in marketing or mass communications
- Demonstratable skill and expertise in photography, videography, graphic design, writing, editing, and storytelling
- Proficiency with various social media platforms, trends, strategy, and analytics
- Aptitude with Adobe Creative Cloud applications and Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to juggle and prioritize tasks
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and takes pride and ownership in work
- Problem-solver and self-starter with strong time management skills
- Multilingual preferred
- Nonprofit experience preferred
- Flexible schedule, ability to cover occasional night and weekend events; must be based in Las Vegas
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to see, be mobile, and have the ability for 2-way communication with the public and staff
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen on a regular basis
- Ability to work for extended periods in an office under artificial fluorescent lighting with varying noise levels. Must be able to perform under pressure and concentrate for prolonged periods.
