LOCATION
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform design of structural components for Marine and Waterfront structures including wharfs, piers, marine terminals, floodwalls and seawalls.
- Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards.
- Adhere to schedules and work assignments to ensure successful project completion.
- Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations, project drawings, and project specifications.
- Work effectively with the CAD team to produce design and construction drawings.
- Research new methods and adapt current processes and work-flows as necessary to successfully execute project deliverables.
- Coordinate with other designers, engineers and team members assigned to a project or task, and support work progress and results.
- Support department managers in achieving performance goals for the department.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all project team members and stakeholders (internal and external to Kiewit).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- Active PE required
- 7+ years’ related design experience in relevant projects
- Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability and willingness to support other activities that have similar functions.
- Perform structural analysis and preparation of engineering calculations. Knowledgeable in popular engineering analysis software such as SAP 2000, SAFE, LPILE and Mathcad
- Functional in utilizing spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and computer operations.
- Ability and willingness to support other civil activities (onshore structures) as needed.
- Regular, reliable attendance

- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
