Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Marine Pipe Welder / Fitters for projects located in and around Portland, OR. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to $30/hour based on experience & skill level. Job Scope:
Install and repair shipboard piping systems such as steam, heat & power, hot water, hydraulic air pressure, and oil lines
Follow blueprints, layouts, and work orders
Utilize hand tools and shop machines
Determine sizes and schedules of pipes
Take off fittings utilize in fabrication and/or repair of systems
Recognize and trace various pipe systems abroad vessels including steam, lube, oil, salt water, fresh water, hydraulics, cargo, etc.
Plan layout of pipe sections
Cut and bore holes for installation of pipes
Target and fabricate various pipe P1 and below
Operate machines to cut & thread pipe and pipefittings including valves, traps, and thermostats
Bend pipe to specified shape
Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
3+ Years of Experience Preferred
Knowledge of basic Marine Piping Systems
Ability to read Blueprints
Ability to interpret and comply with WPS Weld Procedure Certification Forms
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
