Position Summary
The Mapping Specialist assists the Mapping Specialist team with mapping support, GIS data processing, and feature data extraction.

Essential Job Functions
- Successful completion of data processing internal and external clients
- Successful completion of data extraction internal and external clients
- Completion of BPG Mapping field reports and daily mapping logs
- Completion of all GIS tasks to all internal and external client specifications
- Follow all Design Department Best Management Practices
- All BPG safety guideline will be adhered to
- All required tasks and reports completed in a timely fashion
- Team members will adhere to Design Department calendar and be punctual
- Team members will work together and support each other in a cohesive fashion
- Mapping Department members will maintain a profession working area, free of hazards and obstructions
- All equipment will be maintained in the highest quality, with proper maintenance and log sheets
- All data must be QA/QC processed before delivery to internal and external clients
- All digital data will be stored in accordance to Design Department Digital Data Standards
- Perform other assigned tasks as necessary
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Work with manager to come up with goals.
- Work on achieving these goals.
- Weekly goal update meetings with manager or as required by manager.
Skill and Abilities
- Proficient computer/software skills for MS Office and Windows products required.
- GIS and or CAD software experience preferred.
- Must possess analytical abilities to perform ad hoc and other analyses.
- Must have strong attention to detail and perform duties accurately.
- Must be able to work independently to accomplish goals within deadlines.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels within the Company and its subsidiaries.
- Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work overtime to get the job done, especially when important deadlines need to be met.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma required.
- No minimum experience requirement necessary.
- GIS, survey, IT, or remote sensing background preferred.
- Knowledge of generally accepted geographical principles preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour.
