Job Summary

Juice Bar and Grill in Maplewood, NJ is currently looking for members to join our team! Must have a positive attitude, fast learning abilities, and be a people person. Perfect for college students. Prior customer service experience preferred. ServSafe Certification preferred. We are looking for people who have open availability- multiple shifts available. These are Part Time positions.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Clean stations thoroughly

Maintain food safety standards and sanitary regulations

Perform work proactively and timely

Greet customers in a positive manner to effectuate repeated business

Activities & Responsibilities

Primary

Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of HLS Juice Bar & Grill: Our mission and objective to provide great food and beverage options to our customers coupled with impeccable service is primarily anchored on the foundation of creating a great experience for our employees.

Inspect and clean, and maintain food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.

Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.

Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.

Knows and complies consistently with the restaurant’s standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.

Responsible for the quality of products served.

Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to support a smooth service period.

Handles, stores, and rotates all food products and supplies according to restaurant policies and procedures.

Prepares all food served at the restaurant according to recipes.

Portion, arrange, and garnish food, according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications and serve food to servers.

Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as piercing them with utensils.

Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.

Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.

Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.

Close the kitchen following the closing checklist for kitchen stations and assist others in closing the kitchen.

Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.

Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.

Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Prior experience in kitchen preparation and cooking preferred but not required

Able to communicate effectively with managers, juice bar team and fellow kitchen personnel

Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds

Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 7-12 hours)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.13 - $16.00 per hour
