Job Description
The Manufacturing Technician will sustain existing products in Manufacturing and support the transfer of new electro-mechanical product designs from R&D to Manufacturing.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Support troubleshooting of Electro-Mechanical systems performs failure analysis.
- Performs rework and modifications to hardware including PCBs (thru-hole and SMT), wire harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Supports Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) with product testing, validation, and documentation updates.
- Confirms quality of parts and assemblies for Manufacturing providing information to quality department for disposition.
- Maintains and improves (Kaizen) manufacturing processes and documentation (work instructions, process plans).
- Designs and builds basic tooling and fixtures to aide in Manufacturing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Associate degree or vocational training in Electronics.
- 3+ years' experience in manufacturing environment (mechanical assembly a plus).
- Must be able to review and understand written procedures and technical.
- IPC 610 or 620 Training or certification.
- Experience working with sheet metal, plastics, adhesives, conductive coatings, PCBAs, Wiring Harnesses, and soldering.
- Experience with the use of test programs, digital multimeters, signal generators and specialized test apparatus in the diagnostics and testing of assemblies.
- Experience with assembly, testing, and troubleshooting Motion Control Systems is a plus.
- Proper working knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge).
- Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office products.
