Description:
This position is a support role in Missiles and Fire Control's Engineering Prototype Lab (EPL) in Orlando, Florida.
EPL employs a highly skilled staff of Machinists, Programmers, Fabricators, and Engineering support with extensive mechanical fabrication & design producibility expertise. EPL's primary business is to service Internal Research and Development (IRAD) projects and development programs. We provide design phase support / in-house producibility consulting as well as design and fabrication of fixtures and tooling. We are a "one stop shop" for development through limited deliverables.
This position performs cost control analysis and reporting on overhead spend (labor & non-labor), IRAD dollars, and capital project tasks. Maintains manpower data and various tools and metrics for supervision to manage daily activities. Interfaces with vendors to support acquiring shop tooling, consumables and engineering supplies, etc. Maintains inventory, processes invoices, receives and stocks items for shop operations. Serves as a Business Operations point of contact. Participates in Performance Management Team (PMT) activities, supports shop in an administrative capacity and other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or other related discipline
  • A service centered mindset. Putting the needs of your customer first, considering and taking actions to improve your customers experience.
  • Familiarity with lean six sigma and continuous process improvement principles
  • Interest in working in a Manufacturing / Engineering Development Shop environment
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of employees, customers, technicians, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance and as such, must be a US citizen.
  • Position requires candidate will work on site, full time. No telecommuting associated with this role.
Desired Skills:
  • Prior experience estimating and or cost control, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced Manufacturing environment
  • Strong Time Management and Multi-Tasking Skills
  • Prior experience managing budgets, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience purchasing goods using LM's P2P and SAP software is highly desirable
  • Prior experience interfacing directly with LM suppliers
  • Prior Performance Management Team (PMT) experience
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Prior experience managing material logistics to include operation of industrial vehicles such as fork lifts

Ability to Work Remotely:
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:
4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
