Position Summary
Mill Creek Machining (MCM), a Consolidated Machine & Tool (CMT) location, is seeking to hire a Manufacturing Sales Manager. The Manufacturing Sales Manager will be responsible for crafting sales plans and aligning with site-based General Managers across the organization. This is a remote opportunity for individuals that reside in Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin only, requiring monthly travel measuring between 25%-50% of the work month. Executive Management reserves the right to alter the location from remote to an in-office role and such a change would be communicated at least 12 months in advance. The business travel will include trips to meet with new and existing customers, attend industry trade events, (e.g., air shows, expos, etc.) and visits to all CMT operational locations. The travel will be primarily focused in North America but periodically may include other international locations. The ability to obtain a U.S. Passport is required.
*This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. The salary ranges from $115,000.00-$135,000.00 per year depending on experience and is eligible for commission and participation in the company's annual bonus program*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Achieves revenue growth and revenue replacement goals to enable the business to achieve sales revenue targets by successfully managing the sales team and business development activities.
- Designs and implements a sales plan to align with the strategic business plan with sales targets that align the customer base with the company’s strategic goals.
- Leads efforts to manage the sales team including recruiting skilled talent, objectives setting, coaching and performance management of sales and business development personnel. The organization will be a matrix. Some personnel will report directly to this position while others will be deployed at the operating locations and indirectly report to this position.
- Builds and promotes strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with and understanding their needs and developing solutions that add value from the customer’s perspective.
- Manages and communicates sales plans, sales results, win rates, bids and proposals, sales funnel, sales campaigns, and similar business development tools.
- Manages and communicates sales pipeline on a recurring basis.
- Identifies emerging market opportunities and market dynamics, changes and shifts while being fully aware of new customer programs and new competitors.
- Identifies, creates, and manages a CRM for customer opportunity management, tracking and reporting.
- Coordinates bids and proposals with General Managers and Cost Estimating personnel, Sales personnel or business development personnel located at operational sites.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience working in complex machining and manufacturing is preferred.
- 5-7 years’ experience working as a sales representative or Sales Manager with a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding goals is preferred.
- A strong history of CNC machining and understanding of a wide variety of machinery and processes.
- Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process to include sales opportunity identification, sales pipeline management, bids, and proposals.
- Proven track record of negotiating contracts with customers with an emphasis on Long Term Agreements.
- Strong business acumen and directly applicable machining industry expertise.
- A strong ability to work with the various quoting departments to understand the process, keep quotes on time, and make suggestions to the team to win the quote.
- A strong understanding of the outside sources utilized by a machine shop such as plating, painting, welding, grinding, and anodizing.
