Bell-Textron Inc., is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Project) to support our Drive System Center at our facility in Grand Prairie, Texas. 

 

Operations Planning & Control 

The Operations Planning and Control at the Drive Systems Center is responsible for ensuring materials, both procured and manufactured internally, are positioned for on-time delivery to Gearbox Assembly, other Bell sites, and Spares Customers.

 

What you'll be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer

 

  • Guiding the successful completion of major projects in support of strategic priorities and complex technical objectives, the Manufacturing Engineer, applies advanced manufacturing technical principles, theories and concepts to the development of innovative manufacturing technology on existing or advanced designs, concepts, processes, systems and tools.
  • Exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of an assignment, the individual possesses company unique Manufacturing Engineering knowledge and expertise in multiple specialty and advanced manufacturing technical areas with project management implementation skills.
  • Representing Production Engineering as prime manufacturing technical contact on advanced projects and/or programs coordinating manufacturing technology deliverables between functional organizations.

 

 

Skills You Bring To this Role

  • Able to manage complex projects through a disciplined approach to initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing to achieve specific goals to specific success criteria.
  • Able to self-initiate tasks and courses of action to develop scope of work, resource estimates, progress metrics, and communication cadence for overall project management to meet mission critical objectives.
  • Knowledge of military and commercial aircraft systems.
  • Able to apply engineering design and analysis knowledge to evaluate discrepancies and anomalies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Outlook

What you need to be successful

  • 5 years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry experience with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or relevant/related disciplines.
  • 2 years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry experience with related Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology or relevant/relates discipline plus, a Master of Science (MS), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
  • Knowledge and/or expertise in several manufacturing technologies to include, but not limited to the following:
    • Aero-structure - Airframe design of metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes, equipment, tool integration, and product verification.
    • Electrical and Mechanical Systems - design, integration and installation manufacturing processes, tool integration, equipment, and product verification.
    • Tail, Main and Prop Rotor Blade Systems - design of metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and bonded assembly manufacturing processes, tool integration, equipment, and product verification.
    • Manufacturing Execution Systems - process specifications, CAD/CAM; production planning, material requirements scheduling, and material kitting and handling.
    • Gear and Transmission Drive Systems - metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes, tool application, equipment, and product verification.
