Manufacturing Production Supervisor 1st shift

RAD Engineered Wood Products was founded locally in 1960, and it got a solid start selling truck flooring to the trailer industry for a few decades. Then the usual thing happened – the company made some money, owners and employees got complacent, and the business lost its edge. The company said “that’s the way we’ve always done it.”

All of that started to change at RAD 10 years ago, when the current ownership decided there has got to be a better way – to make a wood-and-trucking-industry leading product while employing the top talent in the area. It has taken a few years and many equipment upgrades, but we have finally arrived.

RAD has replaced virtually all of the antiquated machines and has backed this up with long-term supply agreements with our customers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist with the organization, monitoring and prioritizing of daily tasks to meet production goals.

· Guide and Coach employees, monitoring their productivity

· Ensure compliance with safety standards

· Detect issues in efficiencies and suggest improvements

· Assist in the training/cross-training of employees

· Keep Operations Manager updated on team performance and concerns

· Communicates company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team, ensuring that all objectives; safety, quality and output are met successfully on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Strong mechanical & technical ability, using various types of manufacturing machinery & tools

· Proven Experience as a Production Supervisor in a Manufacturing setting

· Strong organizational & leadership skills, together with a results driven approach

· Self-motivated & an efficient problem solver

· Flexible to work long hours to meet production deadlines

· Knowledge of Lumber Specifies and board feet calculation – Preferred

· Prior experience with an ERP program – Preferred

· Solid computer skills including all Microsoft Office Programs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Requires a minimum of eight-ten hours of standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing and pulling, or sitting (as required), with a full range of body mechanics.

· Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds. Frequently required to push/pull 50 pounds.

· Must be able to work in an environment which requires 100% sight.

· Must have the ability to utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing/eye protection.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
