TheManufacturing Plant Engineer position identifies, leads, and implements cost reduction or operational continuous improvement initiatives, supporting efficiency improvement for the plant. This role will manage project responsibilities ranging from equipment upgrades to lean manufacturing projects to reduce waste.

Here’s What You’ll Get To Do
- Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production problems through identification and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes including conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from the operators/production technicians.
- Refine and enhance processes by applying continuous improvement and key Lean manufacturing production principles and techniques to areas of production. Recommend product changes/improvements.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow space requirements, and equipment layout. Coordinate input that may cross multiple teams or areas; make recommendations and implement changes.
- Create and execute site strategic capital plan, ensuring an acceptable return on investment, replacement of worn obsolete equipment, expansion of capacity to meet sales growth, equipment modification or replacement related to changes or cost reductions, as well as development of expanded productive capacity for innovations and new products.
- Oversee capital project activities for plant including defining scope and cost, securing funding approval, developing project plans, documenting, and managing projects and budget through implementation and review, and reporting on progress toward business objectives.
- Produce operational and financial analysis required for a capital project justification.
- Develop and provide engineering analysis and recommendations, technical drawing, and equipment layout.
- Coordinate selection, design and layout of equipment and control systems to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Support plant continuous improvement initiatives by initiating design changes and modification to improve process reliability, meet cost reduction goals.
- Identify and implement solutions for issues relating to safety, quality, productivity, and cost reductions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve processes, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve safety, quality and/or productivity issues.
- Share specialized knowledge with others. Represent company on specific projects, lead and participate on project teams.
Here’s What We’re Looking For
- 4-year degree in Engineering or other related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with Lean/TPS manufacturing principles.
- Experience working with Solid Works and/or other CAD/CAE systems
- Experience working with PLC Logic and other Process Control Systems
- Experience with Statistical Analysis, Six-Sigma and/or SPC
- Experience in Project Management with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities and easily adapt to changing situations. Microsoft Project experience a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of, but not limited to, Industrial Automation, Vision, fluid Power Systems (Hydraulic/Pneumatic)
