Summary
Unloads delivery trucks with incoming shipments, distributes shipments to appropriate areas, inspects and puts parts in locations, processes necessary paperwork, pulls/kits parts for production, enters data into manufacturing software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with buyer to rectify damages and shortages.
- Unloads delivery trucks and disassembles crates or containers of goods received.
- Performs visual inspections on all items received.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
- Rotates stock, check for outdated materials.
- Optimize warehouse space for organization, utilization and protection of materials.
- Updates business system via computer data entry with receipts and returns.
- Upon receipt of goods processes paperwork in a timely manner.
- Notifies buyer in a timely manner of any deficiencies concerning receipts of goods or qualify of goods.
- Efficient in recognizing problems and creative in resolving problems.
- Keeps Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager apprised of the status of received parts.
- Performs cycle counts and randomly checks stock levels.
- Assists in physical inventory count as required.
- Uses appropriate safety devices where necessary.
- Keeps work area free of debris.
- Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
- Assists as needed with stock room activities.
