Manufacturing General Laborer is an entry level position, responsible for the initial processes of remanufacturing, including washing of transmissions and differentials, cleaning and resurfacing components, and painting. This position that does not require manufacturing background and experience but having basic mechanical ability working with different tools and equipment is a plus. Must comprehend and follow standard work and defined processes, while maintaining safety, quality and efficiency as top priority.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing support to the manufacturing operations
- Preparing core transmissions and differentials for wash
- Washing transmissions and differentials using an industrial spray washer
- Learn on how to identify unit models by matching correct paper work
- Cleaning and resurfacing useable parts for reassembly
- Painting of components and finished goods
- Properly using and maintaining all shop equipment including, but not limited to parts washer, hand tools, needle scaler and angle grinders, pallet jack, crane and hoist
- Organization of the work area to ensure productive operation
- Perform additional functions as requested by management

Preferred, but not required qualifications
- A high school degree or equivalent experience.
- Basic operational knowledge shop equipment and tooling
- An ability to identify opportunities in the manufacturing processes and to contribute ideas for operational improvement
Physical Requirements
The Manufacturing General Laborerposition is fast-paced position and can be at times physical, demanding a number of physical attributes, including:
- Ability to lift 75 lbs
- Ability to work on feet for at least 8 hours
- The ability to periodically work beyond the scheduled shift
- Ability to work in a sometimes dusty environment
- Ability to work in a noisy environment
