*Primary Location* US-IL-Northfield
Medline Industries has an opening for Manufacturing FP&A Leader based at our headquarters in Northfield, IL. This position has a hybrid working schedule where in office days are Tuesday and Thursday.
*Job Summary*
Responsible for the financial operations of multiple manufacturing locations in the United States as well teaming with finance and operations leadership at non-US sites on more technical manufacturing finance topics and processes. The role requires an analytical mindset, strong executive presence/communication, people leadership, an ability to collaborate cross-functionally as well as technical manufacturing finance and product costing knowledge.
*Major Responsibilities*
_Financial Analyst & reporting_
* Analyze monthly financial results at multiple manufacturing locations and communicate performance to manufacturing location leaders, divisional executive leadership and corporate FP&A.
* Reporting includes multiple dimensions including by plant, by product division and total network. Communications should be tailored to the audience with an understanding of how to communicate with various levels of the organization (i.e. manufacturing site directors, divisional executive leadership, corporate finance, etc.).
_Team Management_
* Coach and develop a team of plant controllers as well as off-shore team members based in India.
* Provide guidance, training and feedback to direct reports while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and development.
_Product costing / manufacturing finance_
* Provide support and guidance to the site plant controllers on periodic product cost updates.
* Assume full responsibility for manufactured finished good product cost.
_Budgeting and forecasting_
* Oversight of annual operating plan (annual budget), quarterly re-forecasts and long-range (5 year) financial plans for multiple manufacturing locations.
_Strategic planning and decision support_
* Identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement (both financial and operational).
* Collaborate with divisional leadership and operations teams to develop and execute plans to drive profitable growth.
* Perform ROI analysis, scenario modeling, and provide decision support for future business planning decisions and investments related to manufacturing.
_Internal control environment_
* Team with internal audit to support the continuous improvement of the internal control environment including designing and implementing internal controls to address financial statement risks.
Management responsibilities:
* Typically oversees professional employees/teams OR manages non-professional employees through Supervisors in manufacturing, distribution or office environments
* Day-to-day operations of a group of employees
* May have limited budgetary responsibility and usually contributes to budgetary impact
* Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies
* Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning
* Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies

*Education*
* Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
*Work Experience*
* 7 years of experience in manufacturing finance including financial reporting & analysis, standard costing, budget management and capital analysis.
* 5-7 years of experience providing financial advice and counsel to P&L/business owners.
*Knowledge / Skills / Abilities*
* Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate multi-site manufacturing performance to various audiences including manufacturing location leaders, divisional executive leadership and corporate FP&A.
* Strong people management leadership including desire and ability to coach and train junior talent.
* Team player who can collaborate with multiple finance teams including individual plant controllers, the divisional finance team, off-shore finance support resources, etc.
* Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, etc.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing finance ERPs
* Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel and Oracle
* Position requires travel for business purposes (1-2x per quarter including both domestic and international).
*Preferred Job Requirements*
* MBA.
* At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing finance including financial reporting & analysis, standard costing, budget management and capital analysis.
* At least 7 years of experience providing financial advice and counsel to P&L/business owners.
* SAP ERP experience.
